"My Place" was created to give students a LOT of solder practice. The word "place" and the border are all soldering practice - the resistors are not part of the LED circuit.
the "grid" is where students can put their name, initials, or anything else they want using resistors - again just practice, not part of the circuit. Students love "personalizing" the project.
After honing their soldering skills, the students solder the LEDs and test the operation.
Then they solder the control board - resistors, transistors, capacitors, battery leads and USB jack.
"MY PLACE" stands upright on a desktop as the battery acts as a support.
the DP3T switch changes power from 9v to USB.
